Those are U.S Army females. M-16′s are the basic weapon issued to U.S soldiers.

Man, they should take those m-16′s out of the shower, the moisture is very bad for the firing mechanism… They should have gone with AK-74 or even the 47, but the m-16 is just not a shower gun…

You’re right, the M-16 doesn’t handle moisture well, but these girls are IDF, probably basic training, and in basic training you’re required to take your weapon with you everywhere, including to the bathroom and even when sleeping (you have to sleep gripping it or the instructors take it away in the middle of the night).

This reminds me of this Japanese zombie movie I saw where the girl’s swim team has to take on the zombies. It was hot. They wore swimsuits. While killing zombies. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? No?

You can’t know those are A1s. I’m confident they are A2s since the only difference is the substitution of burst for full auto. I’ll forgive the mistake since I know the ladies distracted you.

Actually, M16A1 and A2 (and A3[US Navy]) upper receiver have integral carry handles. The primary difference between the A1 and A2 is the difference in available fire modes. A1 is semi/full, A2 is semi/3-round burst. The handguard does not make the weapon in most cases. In some cases the inclusion of a free-floated handguard can change the designation of a weapon. A free-floated handguard does not have contact with the barrel, which can usually increase the accuracy of a weapon at distances exceeding average combat range.
ANYWAY, we have no definitive way to determine the base model of the rifles without a look at the fire selector switch.

I don’t mind if there is no ammo in there, but when it comes to an assault rifle like the M-16, the banana clip is a part of the appearance of the gun. This picture looks like their guns are castrated. What a shame.

XM16E1 / M16A1 hand guards and rear sights. One has M16A2 handgards but the older A1 rear sight.

What you don’t understand is that the carry handle is visibly *different* between an A1 and A2. The sights were another major change between the models, and it’s pretty obvious those are A1s — the rear sight windage knob and the pinched-in area underneath the rear sight (where the A2′s elevation wheel would be), are distinctive.

Have a look at the rear of the carry handle in the top two rifles here, and you’ll see how I can tell those are A1 uppers:

In the larger picture on Flikr you can make out other telltale details, like the teardrop forward assist and the design of the pistol grip.

Two of the rifles have had the handguards switched out for the A2 style, likely due to breakage of the original triangular handguards (which were more fragile), but they’re clearly A1s.

It also helps to know that Israel has lots of A1′s due to military aid from the US — that’s (along with Latin America, police swat teams, etc) is where we dumped them when they were phased out. LAPD still has A1s in service.

Wrong. The Israelis use a bull-pup rifle, the Tavor TAR-21.

well, since those guns haven’t got any mags I have some fairly possible thought’s about what the guns are used for…..

Oh Israel…. U in my head and dreams…

Just to be clear on a few things:

a. this is israel
b.the guns are M16, only a few units are using the tavor, these units don’t include such amounts of girls, and they don’t have time to take pictures in the shower
c.the girls are in basic training which means they have to carry the gun wherever they go, which included sleeping with the gun under the mattress instead of a pillow or it will be stolen by the commanders at night.
c. since girls basic training is a formality the guns are generally in a very bad shape as it is, i mean they can fire but the bullets get stuck often and there is a real chance that in battle the thing will be pretty much useless
d. actual bullets are given when you are released home on the weekend and when you are learning how to shoot, most of the time, while running around at the base, they are pretty useless.
e. just so you know it’s pretty heavy and annoying to carry around the thing all day
f. just so you know #2: most girls come up with a funny name for their gun in the beginning of basic training, I remember calling mine fluffy
