Page 3 Idol Winner of the Day: It’s not just the lack of Ryan Seacrest that makes Page 3 Idol better than American Idol (or any other version of the Idol program, really.)

For our money, it’s definitely the addition of exposed skin that enhances enjoyment. This year Sun readers voted, and redhead Lucy Collette was crowned the 2011 Page 3 idol.

“Winning still doesn’t seem real,” said the buxom bombshell. “I was in a WH Smith store shopping for wrapping paper when I got the call from Di James at Page3.com. I had been so nervous waiting for the phone to ring all day. I was sure it wouldn’t be me. I thought, ‘I’ve got red hair, I don’t fit in’.”

We’re thankful that she decided to take this particular career path even though she didn’t think it was possible to reach these heights. Now we have these wonderful photos to ogle.

She participated in a “holiday-themed” shoot, posing with vodka and angel wings, before returning to the classic poolside Page 3 pics we’re all used to.

Page 3 Girl of the Day

Page 3 Girl of the Day: Amii Grove has been a popular Page 3 Girl these past few years, appearing in The Sun over 270 times.

Grove had to deal with some disappointment early on in her career. When she was 19, she competed in the Miss Bikini World and Miss England contests, but failed to win either one.

Her good looks eventually got some recognition in 2007, when FHM named her the 66th sexiest woman in the world.

Classic Cutie of the Day

Classic Cutie of the Day: Lalla Dean is a former Page 3 girl who seems to have fallen into relative obscurity since her modeling heyday in the late 70′s and early 80′s.

Dean posed in many adult magazines, including Mayfair and Oui, but never really broke out of the modeling business. She did appear briefly in the 1981 Bond film For Your Eyes Only, but as an uncredited extra.

I guess she stuck to what she was good at, which was getting photographed naked.

Page 3 Girl of the Day: Sam Cooke has become a popular model since winning the Page 3 Idol contest in 2006, which she entered after deciding to take a break from studying architecture.

The busty blonde also works as a DJ for Hed Kandi, and has a 2012 calendar coming out that she hopes will help promote her music career.

Showing her boobs is a pretty good way to get the word out.

Classic Cutie of the Day: Stephanie Marrian is a former glamour model from the 1970′s who was the first ever topless Page 3 Girl.

Marrian had a very successful modeling career, appearing in the tabloid pages many times throughout the decade, sometimes under the name Stephanie Rahn.

Marrian also had brief appearances in a number of films, including Mel Brook’s History of the World, Part I.

Page 3 Girl of the Day: Lacey Banghard may have the name and body of a porn star, but she’s actually the most recent winner of the Page 3 Idol competition.

Despite her slim figure, Banghard claims that she doesn’t like to exercise, as she told The Sun, “I tried going to the gym twice and thought, ‘This is not for me.’”

Well, whatever she’s doing, it certainly seems to be working.

Classic Cutie of the Day: Sarah Jaffer is a former Page 3 Girl who won The Sun’s “Girl of the Year” award back in 1992, but not without controversy.

There were those who felt that the the only reason the then-21-year-old model won was because her picture was much bigger than all the other contestants’.

Whether she deserved the award or not, we should all be thankful for her many years of service in the tabloid pages.
